Pioneer Day Ice Cream Social

Join us at the Moab Museum for ice cream, live music, lawn games, friends, neighbors, and fun on July 24th from 6-8pm! The annual Pioneer Day Ice Cream Social will feature delicious Aggie Ice Cream generously donated by USU Moab and sorbet from Crystal’s Cakes and Cones.

Enjoy local, live music from members of Moab’s Community Dance Band and Eric Jones. Pioneer Day in Utah commemorates the arrival of Mormon pioneers in 1847 to the Salt Lake Valley, celebrating resilience and community spirit. Historically, parades and floats have adorned Moab’s Main Street and downtown, organized by the Sons and Daughters of Utah Pioneers. Today, it’s a blend of festivity and reflection, with parades and fireworks. Engaging Utah’s complex collective history, the day also prompts critical conversations about colonial history, recognizing the displacement of early Indigenous history.
