Nuclear Science Week Pop Up

In anticipation of the Museum’s forthcoming temporary exhibition on display beginning in February 2025, “U92: Moab’s Uranium Legacy,” we celebrate International Nuclear Science Week with a pop-up exhibition featuring radiation detectors from the Collection. With regular admission, guests will enjoy a sneak peek of exhibit artifacts and chat with local geologist Mike Price – final Chief Operations Geologist at Atlas Minerals here in Moab — about radiation detection technology.

About Mike Price:

From 1979 to 1988, Mike Price was the final Chief Operations Geologist for Atlas Minerals, Moab, UT. With degrees in Geology and Geophysics from Prescott College and Western Washington University, his work focuses on mapping and GIS analysis in natural resources. His high level of professional expertise has led him to present expert mapping testimony in Federal court and provide technical service to numerous clients and regulatory agencies. Mike is now semi-retired, and service as President of Entrada/San Juan, Inc., a natural resources and public safety consultancy based in Blaine, Washington.
