A Moab Prison Camp: Opening Weekend Recap

Thank you, Moab, for your participation in and attention paid to the new temporary exhibition at the Moab Museum: “A Moab Prison Camp: Japanese American Incarceration in Grand County.” Nearly 250 members and guests joined us over the course of the opening weekend to engage in this troubling and poignant history. We are incredibly grateful for the words of former UT State Senator Jani Iwamoto, who joined us virtually, and Megan Blackwelder, SE Regional Manager for the Utah Division of State Parks & Recreation.

On Saturday, staff from the UT State Historical Society joined us at the Museum for a Scan and Share event, recording stories related to Japanese American incarceration in Utah.

A Moab Prison Camp: Japanese American Incarceration in Grand County will be on display through the end of June 2024. We look forward to seeing you at the Museum!
